I had a no start issue that based on the symptoms I figured it was probably due to the starter. I got under it and decided to clean up the connections for her since I've got a leaky oil pan gasket. reconnected everything and that seemed to do the trick. got a working jeep again.

I busted the right tail light a few years ago at Tellico Durhamtown & the left one back in January on a snow ride. This was the perfect excuse to install LED tail lights. I need to install my LED reverse lights where the tail lights used to live.
The converter I used said it was LED compatible but now I have to manually blink the lights. Fuse is good & they worked prrior to the install. I only drive it when going to the trails so no big deal.
Photobucket isn't being nice to me today.

Installed trailer hitches to both ends{Curt brand}. Was going to go with the iron rock off road tow hooks, but decided the hitch point on the front would be more useful and I'm less concerned about the clearance being slightly reduced. Trading out the bumpers slipped down the list based on expense, although that may have been the 'best' option, for other peoples value of best
FWIW, the front hitch seems to have resolved a lot of the steering wander that was still left after setting the toe in, although the prior toe adjustment cleared most of it up. Its not quite rack and pinion, but the steering is pretty good now. Must have had some flex in the unibody.
Just hope the steering box doesn't let all of the smoke out now.

Took a somewhat rainy 150-ish mile drive after the recent repairs, no problems. Visited an out-of-town junkyard which was a huge waste of time... Nowhere near the yard it used to be, but I did bring you guys this...
Yikes.

Drove the ZJ after having it parked for winter. Man I miss driving it...going to swap some parts over to the XJ tomorrow. Anyone in the U.P. looking for parts?

The fuel pump died so I had to remove the bumper to take off the jcr fuel tank skid , due to broken nutserts. And I decided to do the cut and fold since the bumper was off. Attachment 284793Attachment 284794Attachment 284792

Replaced a power steering pump that refused to stop squeeling at me. Seemed to stiffen up the drift going down the highway too. Also finished up new LED lighting. Itching to ride.
No, I don't lick fish.
Nice!

I'd been trying to nail down a hard start, hesitation, and bogging down issue. Pulled all the plugs out and every single one of them have ash deposits on them.
Cleaned all the deposits off, took sand paper to the electrodes and regapped 'em to spec. Didn't do anything for the hard start issue (I'm positive at this point it's the fuel pump), and it was still hesitating and bogging down... but not at WOT and not at initial acceleration. What the crap? Then it hit me. When I swapped the transmission, I forgot to adjust the kick-down cable. Less than a minute in the grocery store parking lot and the bogging problem was solved.
Also painted my center console and lid black... turned out great! I'm kinda tired of where I have the CB installed, so I took the console insert out of the spare console I have and cut out the junk tray spot... the CB fits perfectly in the hole, but it's not deep enough. It should stil clear the shifter and remain out of the way of it as long as I secure it up to the lower dash. Still working on that though.

Headed out in the early am to meet some guys for a wheeling trip, and both Hella H4 bulbs blew out within 5 min of each other. Shadowed a work van for the last 10 miles or so to the meetup so I could see in the dark. Nothing open that early, so tried to wire up the fog lights on the bumper but the dashboard was pissed at every combination so gave up on it. Then we waited in the parking lot for the sun to come up to drive without them.
About halfway to the destination I started hearing a loud rumble, thought it was wheel bearing but it kept getting louder and louder until it started knocking. Pulled off the road and 4 out of 5 lug nuts on the front left tire were finger loose.
Finally got where we were going and wheeled it like a bastard. Bought some H4 bulbs and swapped them in, then drove home with no problem

Went to the junkyard and found an old gauge cluster that matches mine, took the gauge bezel out and painted it with chrome spray paint. On a prior trip I managed to find 8 leds in a different cluster I bench tested those this week and they all worked. Did some finish painting on the 2nd set of leafs for the bastard pack and also started spraying the home brew roof rack with spray on bed liner.

Replaced my wheel bearings I got from partsgeek. Now my wheels won't turn. I torqued my hub nuts to 175fp and bled my brakes to make sure they were working. On partsgeek, all the part numbers are all the same for all xjs. Only thing I can figure is mine came with abs that was bypassed and the hubs are for non abs.
