I slept in mine because i rushed out at 3am and forgot my house keys... the gf left to go home and watched a drunk flip his escape. He passed her at 100+ easy. The back draft almost pushed her 96 bronco into oncoming traffic. Came to the bend hit the curb and the snow bank which launched him up so he cleared one yard landed nose first infront of the next house summer saulted between a power pole and guide wire infront of a 3rd and was ejected and slammed against a forth finally coming to rest 2 feet past his vehicle and over a water meter. He was alive and responsive saying he wasn't driving (he was) which wasted 20 mins looking for the other ejected person (they're wasnt) and was driven by ambulance to the hospital not critical. That dude is lucky to be alive. Seriously lucky.

Cleaned the TB and IAC... didn't get any after pics because well... you've seen what a new one looks like, right?

Idles much better now, and actually starts slightly easier. Still dealing with having to poor man's prime and hesitation at around the mid-rpm range.

Ordered an Accell brass-terminal rotor cap and button from Autozone... 17.99 - couldn't believe it. Should be ready for me to pick up today after work.

Getting a fuel pump after that.

Did you install the right one? There's one for the full gauge, and there's a different one for the dummy cluster that just triggers a light on and off

Head gasket? Oh wait.. It's an 0331

You likely have a cracked head. It's common in 2000/01 and can happen even if the engine only overheats once

I'm not sure how many mechanic on here but I started getting paid for it back in the sixties. Some place around the late 70's early 80's you would get parts boxed that would say made different to fit better and they didn't. This seems to fit everything I have bought for my XJ on line. Not sure if it's because I seem to buy what's the cheapest or everything comes from the third world. Finally got the rear bumper on(it was made in Pa.)but they need to check the welders green card. It was below freezing again in the garage and I'm sure the neighbors could here the cussing above the sound of a two hammer trying to bend flanges to line up. After that I had to use a rope to shim up the new dd seal I got from E-bay that air leaked worst than the old one.

Finally installed the new fan clutch and replacement shroud... Found the little aluminum support strut from my radiator wrapped back behind the water pump pulley... I dunno, engine just gets hungry I guess.

That is a great looking bumper. I can't wait to see a winch tucked away into that bumper.

Went to AZ last night to pick up my rotor button and dist cap.... wasn't there. Evidently FedEx is running a day behind. Fuel pressure regulator showed up yesterday though. I was so irritated about the dist cap that I didn't even feel like screwin' with it. Hopefully today my part will be in and I'll knock 'em both out tonight.

Oh wait... wife wants to take everyone to the fair when I get off work this evening... so much for that.
