The sending unit is part of the assembly, doubt it has anything to do with the check valve. I had problems with long starts and found out if I cycle the switch 2 or3 times it will fire right up. Researched and found out about the check valve and just ordered a complete new pump assembly. Figured I may as well replace it all while I have the tank out.
Also had time today to hack together a battery hold down. Everyone wants $25+ dollars for it, took me half hourish and some propane:

Found this this evening...
Wedged down in there nicely holding my fan stationary and grinding the overflow hose against the AC pulley... No idea when it happened but no more than two days ago since I had the hood up last. It never overheated or anything... I guess it's safe to assume I need a new fan clutch now, but I guess it could have been worse.

Took all the plastic off this weekend, no more flares and bumper end caps, and now have a black grill and head light surrounds. Found some rust on the lower rear quarter panel so time for a cut and fold.

The long block for the Wagoneer landed this morning so I dragged it from the office to the house... used my 16-foot tandem trailer for the first time since lifting the XJ and it handles it beautifully. The tongue weight doesnt even squat the rear when hooking it up. Not that I plan to use it all the time with the Jeep, but my pickup has a busted clutch at the moment.
