Hey mrfajita, sounds like a good time to switch to long arms, you remove that bracket when the arms go on. Good luck.

Yesterday I ordered new driveshafts because the day before I installed a new transfer case which changes the length of shaft needed.

When u put those tail lights in you American XJ it leaves a big gap at the bottom. So they make these adapters for that. But these adapters are also hard as heck to find.

Well it was yesterday not today. I was too tired to post. But I loosened up the lower control arms bolts in preparation for my IRO adjustable control arms. Seeing the non adjustable used ones I bought off jeepforum a year ago don't fit.

I also installed the IRO hack n tap SYE on my NP242. Lesson I learned. Their instruction for cutting don't need to be followed. Cut the output to where 1.5 inches of splines were left. Still had to shorten the yoke thing. All in all it took way longer than it should of. But I'm glad its done.

I did take a picture though.

I second that statement for automatics with the 8.25. Have done two 242's with the IRO yoke and had to do exactly the same. 1.5" of splines, cut 1/4" off the yoke.
4.0 AW4, 242, 8.25, 5" lift, using stock front drive-shaft on the rear.

edit: To cut the output yoke use a 4" angle grinder. $35 new. Cut-off disks are $2 and flap-disks are $3-4. And don't forget a face-shield and long clothes.

Its a major PITA if you don't have anything to cut the yoke with. I had to use a chop saw with a metal cutting wheel on it. I'm only sitting at 3 right now. Otherwise same specs as you. So glad I kept the front drive shaft from the XJ I parted out a few years ago.

Took a trip to HD for some screws, straps and other hardware. Some that the vhf was missing for mounting, the others to top up the tool box for breakage

Cleaned the upper console with something resembling fabric cleaner, house still smells like a chemical plant, damnit.
