Did my first oil change. So proud of myself. Used Penzoil high milage 10W30 and a Mopar filter. Whats the normal oil pressure for a 2000 XJ sport? Used to be always maxed out at 80 but now it flutters around 65-70

 

Picked up a brake master cylinder and tried to get the fittings off the old one unsuccessfully (afraid of round off the fittings) so ordered some flare nut wrenches.

 

30-50 PSI or so.

Sounds like you have a bad oil pressure sending unit or the wiring is shot. There are literally hundreds of threads on this subject, go check 'em out.

That's a 14 year old rig, should have changed it LONG ago, you may have some sludge.

 

That isn't right. I'm betting your oil pressure sender is kaput.

 

Got mine towed home on a flatbet with a rod hanging out the side....
