Filled it up. Did the calculations. Getting 14.7 mpg with 3" lift, 33" tires, front and rear Aussie lockers. Millage is still down since doing headers, exhaust, bored TB, and cylinder head work. Better than last check at 13.9 mpg. I guess the computer is still learning the new set up after reset. May be a few more tanks and I will get back into the 15-16 range. If not, I did not buy it for the mpgs so **** it!!!!!!!

wifey left the headlights on for 8 hours... so i had to go give her a jump at work... turns out the xj is not the easiest vehicle to jump start... she would turn over but wouldn't crank.. pressed the gas and she cranked up.. but as soon as i let off the gas to get out and remove the cables she would die... every single time.. wouldn't stay started without gas pedal...

so i two footed her over to the parts house.. replaced the battery.. shoved a little taller battery than the stock one in the box.. more cca.. better warranty.. ect.. fits great..

now she fires right up! these xj's must require a certain ammount of voltage from the battery to stay running... that old one must have been complete toast.. oh well... fixed now!

thats about what im getting with a similar setup. 4(ish)'' of lift 33s and 3.55s and all those performance mods minus the head work.

im running rich tho so once thats fixed it should go up, and ive got some 4.10 axles waiting to go in too so that should help some too.

i figure ill be back in the mid 16s eventualy

They do. Also, the alternator will try to pour its entire life into charging the battery. What happens is that the alternator literally drags the engine to a stop. If that ever happens again just keep the engine at 2500 RPM for about 5 minutes and you're good to go. All you needed to do was charge the battery.

Yup, I experienced the same thing about two weeks after I got my license, stayed on the gas, even at stop lights on my way home and hooked her up to the battery charger. Not something I hope to repeat!

This. Happened to me earlier this week... My fault though. Took it for a 10 min stroll and it's now good to go. Not replacing the battery till it rots away. Helps to have a high idle switch as well. Turn high idle on and ¡¡SLOWLY!! (can't emphasize that enough!) release the gas till the idle keeps it stable. Then it'll run and charge the battery.

Oh ya, put a big grin on my face. Next is the back hatch, I might try to do 6x9s but I don't know if they will make it rattle or not. Any experience with them?
