The new ones? Yeah, ugly.

So I replaced my CPS unit with a Mopar. Installed. Doesn't work! Went to autozone and had the CEL read. P1391. This is my 3rd CPS in 5 days. What's going on?
Did the reset trick to reset CPM, turned over just fine. Then after first rev the CEL popped back on and it died. It's weird though. It'll idle and drive just fine when it starts. It's just the starting that sounds awful. Wtf is going on?

Be more specific? What's it doing EXACTLY?

Sounds like a wiring issue to me.

Took it for a joyride in the maritime forest and the beach. As usual, jumped the camelhumps and rolled off ledges.

This last pic we had to put the acos back and then hold the coil to get it back in place. For some reason the bump stop bolt came out.

Last week I was driving to work and the engine just completely shut off. Prior to that I was having funky downshifting problems after 45mph. Anyhoo, after the engine turned off (I was cruising around 40mph), while coasting, I turned it back over. No prob. It got me to work and back home, except I had a CEL. Took it to advanced auto and had the code read. It said my ignition coil went out. Bought a new on and replaced that as well as my TPS, thinking that'd help my shifting issues. I have hood vents but didn't have any drainage to protect my sensors before out first snow fall. Got it home replaced sensor and coil, started up fine. 3 hrs later went to start it up. Clunk, rough start up, fired up but now had CEL again. Went back to advance and now running code P1391. Bought a new CPS, plugged in, nope. Removed, went back and exchanged, put it in. Nope. Called the dealership, ordered a new Mopar one, installed. Nope. Still throwing P1391. It idles alright, but start up it either doesn't turn over unless I give it a little gas. Sometimes it'll just turn right over. I'm at a loss. I checked the wires, they're all still encased in there plastic sleeves. Could it be the connector that joins the CPS to the rest of the jeep? Can I spray brake cleaner in there if it's dirty (it says on the bottle it conducts electricity lol!)

Sorry, I tried to put a link to my post in the forum so I wouldn't have to paragraph here...could get it on my phone.

I've been battling the dreaded belt squeak, finally looked at the harmonic balancer, it had started to separate so I replaced it with one from my parts XJ. Also installed cup holders.

You're reattaching your sway bar for one day?

By tomorrow the snow will be gone. Only needed for the drive home with the weather. I've been for the last few months fully swayless. I love it

I want to buy them before I start spending on an H4 conversion and pricey bulbs. I'm still running Sylvanias with the stock wiring, and LEDs would also save me the cost of a harness. The more I think about it, the better the price gets.
