Ordered a Tatton driveshaft so I don't need to mess with an SYE. It'll end up the same price as a junk yard shaft, sye kit, u joints, and hours of labor and the various tool bits I'd need.

Did an oil change with a filter I'm trying, WIX 51459. 7" unit with a ****load more surface area recommended on an IH forum. Jeep took almost 7L of oil! Here it is next to our favorite 51515 and another filter I'm going to play with:

Yes, it actually fits:

Pressure change is hard to tell because the temperature here has been up and down like crazy, and my last filter didn't filter that well anyway (51515XP).

Maybe because it's freaking MASSIVE, but it'll probably be more annoying because there are no crimps or knobbly things or whatever you want to call the top of the other filters.

Thanks! Nope just tractor & implement paint, shouldn't get much warmer than the oil I don't think. I believe the paint I used is rated to 300F

Nope. Larger surface area with less resistance is good for your engine. I'm expecting a slight increase as more oil gets through it.

Please post up your thoughts on it and how well it works. Did you get the double cardon rear shaft? I can't believe I never saw these before I read your post, I was like what is this guy talking bout lol.

Don't forget, the 51515 already dwarfs what was on there from the factory lol. A PH16 is like 3" tall.

I will, my garage is really dirty so I didnt take pics lol.

Ah I also pressed out the studs of my axle shafts and attempted to install the new 01 XJ ones... Broke the vise. I'll squeeze them in tomorrow after work.

Axle swap should be tomorrow after work, or Sunday afternoon. Gear break in has to be very careful since I will be driving 70 miles a day Monday- Wednesday to work... Luckily the pattern is perfect on the new gears.

Got a DD. XJ can finally go through some abuse and not have to worry about it being functional the next day
