Gotta play a little catch up!
  • Installed Liquid Iron's rear sliders
  • Forgot to re-measure shock length after a hair of added lift from the sliders. Turns out 23.84" sitting at 23" rides really rough, who'da thunk it?
  • Bought new 16" compressed 26" extended bilstein's for the rear
  • Installed new rear shocks without breaking any upper bolts,

And for something truly amazing:

Finally measured my rear lift height (top of tube to frame, inside of the rear bumpstop) and it was 13". Which would mean my RE 3.5" kit, with only full leaf packs, 4° shims and sliders, gave me nearly 7" of lift

Safe to say some IRO 3.5" with the 8th additional spring will be ordered shortly. They're supposed to be a touch longer and lift as advertised.

.
I have 2 month old 3" BDS 7 leafs, 4* shims, with Clayton shackles. Sits at 5" lift at lowest setting.
Up front the RE 4.5" coil springs sat at 4.5" lift, stock bumper.
How old are your RE's? They usually will settle a bit.

let me get this straight-

1. run out of gas
2. load jeep onto "trailer" without gas. (must have been annoying)
3. drive this, "trailer" part of the way.
4. wait for a tow truck to bring you gas.
5. return home.
6. unload jeep.
7. have fun.

seems like this might have been easier?

1. run out of gas
2. drive white truck to town and get gas in it.
3. return home and have fun.

maybe I'm way off base here..

They're just over a year old with plenty of road miles on them. No real flexy trips yet.

I'm torn between raising the front, which means new shocks up there, new coils and likely a new track bar; or lowering the rear with IROs 3.5" packs plus their added 8th leaf since I'll likely add a rear tire carrier at some point.

Well back on topic, the jeep did drive up onto trailer before it died. Well today I found out jeep jk rims fit on my trailer. So let the restoration begin since the tires are rotted and the decking is rotted too.

Had pizza for lunch too. Ate it in the garage while looking at XJ, trying to come up with more ideas for modification. Not much left I can do other than have gears installed.
Hit a bunch of jumps yesterday on the beach and topped out at 62 mph. Fun!

What about spraying system mounted underneath the jeep connected to your water tank o top, so u can just spray the salt off the jeep with only one shot.

Overfilling the transmission and plugging the CCV accomplishes similar for much less

Good idea but that water is for the camp kitchen and rinsing off after surfing.
I already have a PVC pipe system at home, connected to a garden hose. Shaped like an 'H' laid flat on the ground with small holes drilled in pipe. Turn the water on and drive over it. Works great. Picked up that idea from an 'old timer'.

Used motor oil, brushed or sprayed on the underbody is how it used to be done. Messy.

Did you get 7" over where your busted old Jeep sat before, or 7" over stock height?

Default Bottle Opener

Installed a bottle opener on rear bumper (Nates4x4).
I drilled the hole and my 4 year old boy screwed it on.
Only took a few minutes so now I have to figure out what to with the rest of the day. Maybe hit the beach and pop some bottles. Non-alcoholic of course.
