I did not notice that until I looked at the pic again just now. Guess I need to look at it a little closer.

Went to Southington Off road park in Garretsville Ohio just after having a new control arm and new bracket welded on(Clayton Off Road makes some dam nice brackets). Got into a bind on a narrow trail and had to turn around as I didn't think I could make it down the next hill without rolling it. Ended up having to back up into to the woods using my rear bumper to push over a small trees but I ended up using the tail light to push over a tree that I thought was on my bumper, cracking the lens but was finally able to get myself turned around after great effort(wish I had a frelling chainsaw). That was the only thing I broke that day, didn't get stuck but I didn't try to push it through anything serious.

Don't know if I am getting older and wiser or what's going on but I was really hesitant to take the Jeep down some of the trails today. Getting stuck is never an issue there as there is always someone around the corner to give you a tug. But I was so concerned with damaging something serious today which is not like me or hasn't been my motto in the past. My 96 is in really good condition for the year, only 128,000K on it. Very little rust which is amazing for an Ohio Jeep as well as the body is still in really good condition. Maybe it's because they aren't made anymore and it's getting harder and harder to find the pre 1996 ones that haven't been modded to hell. Nothing wrong with modded Jeeps but I prefer to mod it myself .It's done the way I want with the parts that I want.

On another note it was a little sad today as the place was full of shiny Wranglers, didn't feel right to me. All that shiny metal and plastic just doesn't feel 'Jeep', if you know what I mean. Granted to XJ is far from a classic Jeep but the XJ is still a very simple vehilce opposed to these modern things with all there electronic controls.

You can't even take the roofs off modern Wranglers without help now. they are not jeepish by any means IMO

Got my front fenders done and one rear fender before my cut off wheel exploded in my face.... Also painted one of my fenders orange where the old flare was.

Used it as the gear truck for the run my friends put on this weekend. Bikes, cliff diving, casinos and camping.

Completely removed rear axle, managed to get both shackle and front leaf bolts out with only minor damage (wallowed out the hole in shackle box, some grinder love marks), and generally burned off a lot of PB Blaster and rubber bushing lol. Yanked the track bar.

Wife/fiancee/whatever pulled the skid plate, bumper, axle shafts, and brakes off the front.

Was told by my mother that my jeep looked like a frog.
