Got it licensed... Finally. Now i just need a new battery so I can drive it again. It's been 3 long days since I've drivin it and Im startin to go crazy. I had to drive my moms minivan the past couple days and that's no fun!

Also I got quoted $240 to get my windows tinted and a strip across my windshield. Does that price sound right? It comes with a lifetime fade, bubble, and peel warranty.

Tint prices vary by location. It was like $100-150 in CT to get my XJ done. If I had it done in Watertown, NY, it woulda been $250+ $50 for the strip across the windshield.

They sell kits on eBay that is precut for your xj for about $20-25. Then you just buy a install kit from any parts store and slap it on. There are many videos on YouTube how to do it. Its not very hard once you do the first window or two.

I was quoted $180-325 to have mine done in any shade I want. I figure I buy a eBay kit for $20 and try it. $20 compared to $180 I could mess up many times and keep buying new kits if I'd like and still save money. I'm almost finished installing my precut kit and I have to say it was worth the $20.

I messed one window precut up when installing it and I contacted the seller and they are sending me an entire new kit for my xj because of my mistake for free. Weigh out your options!

Also to anyone out there looking to save money I found a Coupon code for Advance Auto parts online. Code is P20 and is for 20% off any order good until 12/31/13.

What percent tint is the kit? Or can you choose from a few?

Depending on who you buy from anything from 2.5% to 80%. Most sellers will offer 2 shade options. I did 15% on the front doors and 5% for all other doors and windows. I'm not sure if it was my seller or what but the 15% looks more like 20-30% to me. The pic I added is of clear window vs 15% vent from the inside.

I would not trust myself with a tint job. I had a hell if a time putting stickers on ice freezers at my last job. I'm gonna check a few other places and see what they gave to offer or possibly see if I don't know a guy who knows a guy that can hook me up

I used thumbtacks to hold up my headliner.... temporarily of course, i was just tired of driving in a tent. I'm thinking of removing the fabric and putting up some of that sound dampening material on the underside of the roof itself and then just bedlining the headliner. i'm not sure if there is enough room between the 2 though.... hm... i'm also concerned about the smell.

Haven't logged in for a while, so: changed the alternator, stabbed the radiator in the process so had to change that. Figures I'd put in a tranny cooler in while everything was pulled apart. Installed the high output ARB compressor. Got the tubing bent for my tie rod. Re painted and relocated the roof rack. Installed new u joint in front driveshaft and filled the CV with grease. Ordered parts to operate the ARB locker, they'll be delivered Saturday (I leave tomorrow morning for a 3 day off roading trip) All that was done over the weekend and the last few evenings.

I have these sitting on my work bench, just waiting for me to put on, I put a set on my Wrangler and really like them.
