Having a transmission guy check out the 4x4. She's doing about 2100-2200 rpm at around 55-60 mph and close to 3000 rpm around 70 mph. Seems a bit high. Adjusted the lockdown & changed the fluid/filter. It didn't help. No codes, so perhaps solenoids are okay. I may to brace myself for a new transmission!

sounds like the OD solenoid is bad - there's a little spring in it that wears out over time.
Other possibilities related to the trans shifting into OD:
1 - brake switch is bad (OD disengages when brakes are pressed)
2 - engine temp reading too low
3 - incorrect input/output shaft speed (speed sensor malfunction)
4 - throttle position sensor malfunction

Got put to the test by some construction workers.
My apartment complex has 2 ways in and one requires a key which I don't have and the other is being trenched out to be worked on. The guys detour the other cars and he looks at me and asked if I wanted to try my luck. **** yea I want to try it so I put it in 4lo and drop down, up and over a 2ft trench they dug up. My neighbors were staring but the guys were laughing their asses off. An accomplishing day!
