If it is locked, rotate both wheels simultaneously twenty revolutions and count the rotations at the pinion. That's the ratio.
Really twenty times is just a number, you could rotate it thrity, forty a hundred if you so desire. The more revolutions the more accurate the math. There is bound to be some fractions involved because the odds of your pinion stopping at one full revolution when you spin the tires X amount of times is pretty rare.
Hey y'all , been a little bit since my last update my wife smashed my nose so I renamed my rig to Rudolph for obvious reasons ..went wheeling in the Cumberland RI area with my bud (99tj) disco'd for the first time loved it but got a flat after about 9 hrs of wheeling (stupid mistake, didn't wait for a spotter) we were about 40 yards from the end of our trip lol...had a blast tho here's some pics .where the blazer is is where I got my flat lol had a temp spare 215/75/r15 couldn't wait to get home and put my real spare on pulls hard when braking lol ..also found a worn axel ujoint been trying for 2 days to get hub nut off , gonna have to buy a 1/2"ratchet, my compressor won't do it ..looking to go out again soon !!!

Picked my head up from the shop. Machinists asked me where I found a good one (7120). Apparently some other guy has been in there with 4 cracked heads in a row. The 0331 defect lives on.

Going to take the cover off my Dana 44 to find out what gears it has. Also recharged the ac in my comanche and finally filled my cherokee to specs. 25 psi low side sounds about right for 65 outside. Will do vent temp drop when we get our famous 90+ days soon.

Tried to finish removing my front passenger door. 30 minutes of 20 degree weather and 2 cut off disks later i gave up. Can't get the top hinge to come off, guess I'll have to remove the whole door.

Had my friend pick up an adjustable track bar for me. I'll check it out when I get home. Next will be new ball joints and u-joints. Any recommendations on brand? I hear good things about moog, but are they worth the $ or will they just last as long as the oe parts?
