I'm looking for a pointer and feel really stupid about it but for the first time I'm trying to get to the spare tire and I can't get the carpet spare tire cover off.. I don't want to force it off and tear something. Any trick to it or a place its secured I can't see?

Might. Also might not look that clean. Get a very high tooth count metal blade. Protect the area in case it grabs. That way you dont bash it to hell. I personally have a body saw, small pneumatic reciprocating saw with small high tooth per inch count. Works like hot knife on butter with clean edges and control
