dont think so and i think it should bolt right up..i think they use the same u-joints..the axle leaf mounts are all the same. i have a friend running a 31 spline 8.8 in his rig with a stock D30 upfront and as long as the gearing is the same, youre golden

Ok, so the spline count does not have to be the same but the gearing does...Im not sure what the gearing in mine is, how do I find out and how do I tell if it is c clip or non c clip?

I am new at this whole mechanical thing.

Default 8.25 swap

The 8.25 I swapped was out of a 97 Cherokee. The ubolts need to be 3"x8x1/2". At least that is what I used with my bastard pack springs.
Everything bolted right up except I lost ABS on the rearend and need to take the time to swap e-brake cables out of the old 35 and into the 8.25.

Cleaning the airfilter, soaking right now. Went on a little after dark wheeling last night playing follow the leader through a grown up weed patch. Got most of the weed seeds out of the radiator already and the AidRaid filter is drying right now.

Didn't get anything done today. Slept in late and I am waiting for payday to be able to do any more.

I chisseled all the mud from the undercarrage. Then drained my rear quater panels, They had about 3 gallons of water in them. I found a drain plug on the back side of ther panel.

Your 87 will have a non c-clip D35 in the rear.

Finally had the stripped pile of junk 87 hauled off and had the 89 project towed to the house so I can start on the build.

Pics of said drain plug Troy?
I'd like to drain mine, I think there may be some stuff in there from the last wheeling trip.

Swapped the rear brake cylinder from my 89 to my 88 Cherokee and found that I was missing the emergency brake bracket!!! Kind of redundant being as soon as I get my garage cleaned out, I'm going to be building the 89 2 door, but my 88 is my daily driver right now. 2 days ago I found a set of 31x10.50's BFG's for the build. $80 for all 4...Wahoo! Now just need to get a set of GC V8 coils and spacers and I have most everything to get her up a bit to take on the monster snow drifts we get here in Saskatchewan
