I tried that too, but it was a lot mor trouble than I thought it would be, I like how mine looks, it's got a stainless pin coming through the fuse and our the top with a know off the stock radio for a button.

And as for making it work without bending, I set the grenade on the shift lever till the little white plastic piece came through and contacted the spoon and used a harder cotter pin as a pivot point and cut the 2 hooks on the back end off.
