Haven't posted in a few days, but Wednesday and Thursday I slapped some more primer on my front passenger floor and seat brace, cleaned up rust elsewhere and primed it, then reassembled the interior just in time for the Christmas driving. Got a lot of work left to do. Before putting the carpet back on to-be-repaired spots I wire wheeled and primed then slapped down some rubber mat... there's now rubber in the cargo area and under every passenger's feet (driver's too). I think it's actually quieter now lol. Quite the change from being able to hear valve train noise all the time
lol yup looks familiar. Rear floor is okayish in mine, at least from the top, looks like the rear quarter panels are rusted out under the bumper caps (surprise surprise)
Haha some people after hearing about my problems and the work I've put into it (which is nothing compared to a lot of folks here) just say "Why don't you get a new Jeep with no rust?". After berating whatever the **** Chrysler thinks the WK2 is supposed to be I tell them about the JK's problems lol... bad trans after 6000km, radiator blowing up, Chrysler wiring problems, cat dies after 4 years, rust after 3... junk!
Also can the "ban-me-now" retards who keep bringing up illegal catalytic converter removal keep their **** out of this thread? You already trolled another one for like two pages last week or so.

Also, I foolishly ripped off my fire wall material because I had my heart set on just bed lining it and leaving the carpet out. But I cleaned up my carpet really well and am thinking about putting it back in. Where can I pick up some of the firewall material? Do I have to just go pull some from a jy?

Actually it's sold as rubber garage flooring. 42" wide at $4 a foot. It's got a diamond plate theme on it, stuff is like 3/16" thick. It's very similar to this stuff, except actual rubber instead of PVC: http://www.pittman.ie/rubber-floor-m...-722438pd.html
Is that that crap that keeps getting in the way that hangs down from the dash? Rubber mat with some foam on it? I dislike the idea of the foam, you could use the stuff I found or Dynamat or something.

And Yea, it was a big PIA trying to do all the welding around it and stuff so I just ripped it out. And yea I'm def interested in something over just the floors to kind of take some noise out. I have some like padding that I got from a U-Haul truck, looks similar to the stuff that is on the underside of the carpet. I was thinking about adding that as well but Iv'e read that rubber material absorbs the sound better.

Haha i meant the flooring. I have a friend that bought a police jeep and it has some type of black padding on the floor. Id rather do that than bedline

Good stuff, just find the rubber dealy. A store in the US has gotta have it. Next time I visit Princess Auto I'll try and get the brand name.
