Default Final Score: Valve cover - 1, Me - 0

Tried to change my valve cover gasket today, all bolts were on hand tight only..................yea, hand tight, I literally didn't have to use a ratchet, thank you previous owner.

After getting all the bolts out, the valve cover wouldn't budge, [yes, I got out ALL the bolts].
I beat on it with a rubber mallet, still didn't budge, then I beat it harder, it just laughed at me, then after beating on it for like 15 minutes, it finally..........................got the best of me and I went inside.

You'd think with all the oil and sludge around the outside edge, the cover would have just blew off with a hard sneeze, but no.

well the factory torque spec is 81in/lbs so yeah, on mine i just pryed it off with a flat head screw driver. the bolt in the very back of the engine bay is a huge pain tho.

I got that rear bolt off fairly easy. I was scared to pry it off, I did'nt want to make a scratch\ dent that would end up not sealing once I got the new gasket on.

i just pryed it off very carefully and it was fine. so far after changing that, i have no oil leaks except for a very very small rear main seal leak.

today i mounted up reverse lights and gave her a bath and re-jb-welded the gas tank

I installed 6 inch lift springs that came off my 86 F150 in my XJ gave it a total of 8 inches of lift. Lost some flex but rides so much better.
