Used it to rescue a coworker... Chrysler's BRILLIANT design in the Neon (SX 2.0) is that the intake manifold is linked to the throttle body/air cleaner housing via a hose and all the vacuum fittings are on the air cleaner. So if the hose pops off the manifold (which it did) the driver is confronted with a MASSIVE vacuum leak (7000 RPM in D going down a residential street) with no power brakes...

XJ tools and knowhow to the rescue! Poor guy looked up P0068 online and thought he'd need to buy a new manifold

Taking a cat off a vehicle is against federal law. And talking about it on this forum is against the rules since its against the law.

I don't doubt that one bit. But yet company's can still sell full exhaust systems that have no cat...which may be an illegal mod in some places...but here in Michigan cars from Hondas, to old schools, 350z to subis, jeeps to Chevys, fords to yotas run no cat day after day. I cant count the vehicles I've seen with no cats. And the people I've talked to about it. And I have yet to hear about one ticket. Now I do have a buddy that had an eclipse, 2.5 ran all the way back, still had a cat, and had a hugeeeee fart can 4inch, got a ticket for being to loud. I guess it's just how you drive it/build it.

Go read the federal law. It's illegal to remove a cat if equipped from the factory.
And also against the rules to discuss it on this site.

That's great, really. And it doesn't matter one bit. It's illegal in the entire USA. It doesn't matter that you know people who aren't getting ticketed. It is a federal offense to remove the catalytic converter. Period.

Oh wait... if nobody notices that I rip off my employer, I can get away with theft right? Unless I bring it up on an Internet forum where the owner might be subpoenad for the poster's information.
