My son scored an 89 XJ Laredo for a parts Jeep. I snagged a new horn because mine was toast. I snagged the factory driving lights.
and I snagged the front driveshaft to use in the rear of mine after I save up the cash to get a Performance Off Road SYE.

1. Swapped a gauge cluster with a tach and got all of the gauges working well (Thanks TrekkerJmm).
2. Changed the fuel filter.
3. Painted my wheels. I'm heading up to the shop later tonight to put them on the XJ, but they turned out really well. I did the following:

3. Painted my wheels. I'm heading up to the shop later tonight to put them on the XJ, but they turned out really well. I did the following:
- I used a paint/bondo/rust remover wheel and a coarse wire brush on a corded drill to remove the rust on my wheels (it was really bad) and only needed to use sand paper for a bit of the detail work, but really next to nothing.
- I then taped up the spots I didn't want painted.
- Primed with "Rustoleum Rust Converter Primer"
- I let that sure up and then I shot the wheels with "Rustoleum Hammered paint". I really like this paint because the texture was very forgiving of minor imperfections since I had to take a lot of the rust off. I highly recommed this paint for someone who has heavily rusted rims like I did.
