What did you do to your Cherokee today?
Okay.
This MAY not fit here under the What did you do to your XJ today...but it may.
Quick rundown.
Left for work early this morning about 4am. I live in basic rural area (not for long). Went 1/4mi to the big S-turn on my commute.
Corner of the eye caught something off the side of the road coming out.
4-POINTER!!! No stopping. Did swerve. But there was no avoiding it.
BAM! On the passenger's side. No glass--thats good.
Pulled over and got out. Maglite in hand.
OH MAN!....

Cosmetic? Not in the daylight. The window seal (along bottom of window) is pulled away about 1/8". The divider between the movable glass and stationary glass is bent right in the middle...right where the fur is hanging out.
And to top it off... I can't open it from the outside.

I foresee J/Y run and a new door in my near future

Man, that sucks, but it sure could have been a WHOLE LOT worse!
You're very lucky that it didn't come in the windshield at you!
Doors are replaceable...you aren't!

Changed center console to non cracked one.
Changed oil and filter and noticed strange valvetrain or acessory knock. (Honey the motor knocks so I had to buy that stroker)
Put on Flowmaster muffler.
Capped converter air tube that was never capped.
Changed LR door pin switch.
Added Lucas tranny goo to tranny and it is helping shifts. Will remove if problem gets solved.
Noticed my 96 sits much higher than my 93 and 95.

Found out why the alternator charges a volt low.
Just out of curiousity, popped the covers off the alleged "No Maintenance" sealed battery, and saw it was half full of acid.
Idiot that I am, I was troubleshooting without checking the battery, first.
Topped the battery up with distilled water, drove it around and charged it awhile (it read straight up and down at 14 volts on the voltmeter, now) and it starts when you touch the key, now.
Sometimes, you'd think I'm an idiot....

I wouldn't say idiot.
There are times we just "overlook" things or just "take for granted"

Washed the mud and splatter off! There is a great "puddle" on the east side of Kingston Pass and I had to play. The brown just didn't look that great on the black. At least not in the long term.
I also ran Sea Foam through the manifold. (after hearing such good things about it here on CF) I got a wonderful ??? cloud of white for a few minutes. I have not noticed any difference in how its running though. Does anyone know what the "white" is caused from?
My only past experince in clouds of white coming out of the exhaust was when I blew a head gasket and was trying to increase my MPG with engine coolant.

3 mechanics mind you have a s10 that only starts when you put the jumper cable direct to the starter and can still start it with the key.
Ok starter we know is good and the s terminal is working.
Must be a bad cable right?
Change the cable still no start. Scratch heads and get another cable and put it on.
Still no start. Curse and scratch heads.
Finally notice we are running jumper cable to starter off top post and it starts.
Turns out the + side post burned up on the inside of the battery but the top + was fine.
Change battery and truck starts. DOH!
The old battery resides in a Ford now and works fine for him as a top post.

Started new TRE's tonight to replace some bad ones and also to put in a new stabilizer...So far draglink and stabilizer are in as they should and I am having an issue getting 1 tre to come lose..
Wife and kids were gone, so I went back out to the garage to tackle the hard starting problem, which I was originally chasing down.
Pulled the spark plugs (my goodness, some of those are a cast-iron b*tch to get the boots off of, even with a boot puller.
In the process, I broke some of the wire-sorters, and pulled a heater hose off, so had to fix those as well.
3 out of 6 plugs had the gap nearly wide open. When I tried to start it, it started hard, and ran rough; shut her down, and checked all the wires and boots, and sure enough, I'd forgotten to refasten #5, and missed it because of all the heater hoses and whatnot that run in front of it.
Got everything fastened up, and it started easy, but don't know if I've found the problem, or if it will start a little harder when it's cold.
3 plugs over gap have to make SOME kind of difference in how she starts, ya know?
