No probelm . If I were you, I'd consider waiting as long as possible before cashing in that Cat recall. Mine sounds horrible and I need to get it respectible, so it is in the shop right now. If it didn't sound as bad as it does, I would have waited until it became unbearable or I was due at the DEQ (not a problem in Wyoming).
Course, you have a 96 too, so you may be in the same position as I am.

Oh I have to add that the dealer threatened me with charges stating that any exhaust work that is not from the dealer may have been welded on and they'd have to charge more for the extra work. Sounds appropriate. I just made sure to crawl underthere to find out for sure that there was no welding so they don't try to hose me over. I've only ever met one mechanic that I trusted.

be careful over there 120mm, god bless you and your family.
I just got the injectors and heat shield put back together on my intake, put the power steering back together and put the belt on. Got some of the vac. lines put back, need to look at my manual to see about fixing the others.
Got the battery on the charger while I take a little break. Then I'm going to go get a couple gallons of gas in the gas can to dump in it and I will hopefully be firing this thing up and seeing if I fixed it or not.

We'll see. I'm hoping to pick it up in an hour and I still haven't gotten a call back from the shop.

Thanks and good luck 120mm!!!
I went to the pull-a-part today. Out of 8-9 XJ's there, there was a lonely '88 Limited, with what I went for... factory tow hooks and brackets. I got the hooks off no problem, got the drivers side bracket off too but the passenger side bracket was pretty mangled from a wreck. So I couldn't leave in defeat... bought the tow hooks and hardware, now just have to find/order brackets. I also got a black 48" Hi-Lift!!!!

I got 2 new tires. I also took it to a mechanic to check the A/C that's not working. It could be a shorted wire, and my check engine light is staying on even though the mechanic tried to clear the code. The code was something like "clutch fan circuit open/shorted". All my fuses are okay, though.

Got remote start/car alarm installed. Can't wait for some cold weather and use the remote start...I hear it's life changing.
