Took it into the dealer! The PO sold the rig thinking that the engine was about to fall apart. Thankfully, I got the vin off her before I took a look at it and saw that she hadn't cashed in the Cat recall yet. I'll be getting it back tomorrow and it will have a purr the PO hadn't heard on that thing for years.

Mine is a 96. Go here: http://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/j...ilForm(%27R%27) and put in the last 8 of your vin to see if you have any incomplete recalls.

Well, first I was replacing a bulb under the dash, but I blew a fuse. Replaced the fuse. Then while going to get food, I blew a tire!

Nobody was able to help me and I wasn't far from home, so I drove home (about 25 mph for 3 miles). The jack couldn't jack it up high enough to lift the wheel off the ground. My tire is now completely destroyed (I just hope I didn't bend the rim, I love my wheels!). Tonight just wasn't my night.

Here's what it looked like when I got home:

try under the axle next time chief. Thats where it goes to change a tire.

edit: as long as your jack is this style and not something goofy:

I gave final maintenance advice to my wife and kids, about Jesse, our '95 Cherokee.

I leave for Afghanistan for a year today. After I get home, I'm completely cutting this thing up and making something crazy out of it.

Good tip, just put my VIN in, and I have the same Incompete recall. Guess I'm taken her to the dealer next week.
