2 things. First. Get springs. Second make sure the holes are lined up correctly. If you dont do this it will be an extremely annoying noise and bounce around alot. Thats what mine does.

Picked up one of the older style 3 spoke steering wheels. Finally I can ditch the ugly "luxury" airbag wheel, I hate how it looks. On top of that the 3 spoke is about 1" larger diameter, more leverage!

paint is drying tonight, will post pics after installing tomorrow.

Does the older steering wheels fit the newer jeeps? I want the 3 spoke but wasn't sure it fit. I have a 96 and it's a "R" title so my steering wheel is one from a caravan! I hate it so much I want it gone!!!

I'll find out. I did research and no definitive answers were found. At worst I lost 6 bucks on the wheel and I have to put the fugly SRS wheel back on.

if nothing else the spline pattern can be cut off both and welded on to the other. i put a John Deere tractor steering wheel in a K5 once just cause i could.

change of subject.... cut plate, poor mans break, make template, cut more plate, back to poor mans break, rivet in place, repeat for other side.

Yea i know but i have 3 to drive and keep charged. Besides its too much fun driving the 5.9 grand and watching the look on the ricers when i smoke them with a grocery getter. Plus just took the wifes wrongler wheelin last weekend as i am still waiting for my 44 to be done for the xj so i can wheel it again.
