I have been working on the cooling system and found out today that my gas tank has had 4 holes that were patched and is leaking.

I am looking for a replacement and found my stock 20 gallon is going for about $140 new, but I want the larger gas tank for longer drives. I might pick up a 30 gallon for around 300-400 from aero. I guess this had to happen because when the PO replaced the fuel pump and they put the floater on the other side and the needle reads wrong because of that, so I will fix that when replacing the tank with a new one. Any help finding the cheapest price for a larger tank would be very helpful.

An $80 coolant flush, only with a Jeep.
New failsafe t-stat, housing, rad hoses, heater line, and bypassed the heater control valve. Much cleaner look and now it runs too cool... Driving home from my friend's house usually it hits 210, tonight it didn't go above the first quarter on the gauge once the stat opened.

I'm just worried that it will not hit operating temp (195) all winter giving me crappy mileage. Still beats having sludge and sediment with the consistency of turds in my radiator though, and beats overheating.

Yea I was thinking that also. I haven't really had a chance to drive my XJ much after I swapped everything so I hope it will go back to normal after few days of driving it.

I replaced my thermostat, radiator and hoses a couple of weeks ago. Drove it to Pismo beach (7 hours) and back the next weekend and didn't hit operating temp but one time going up a very big hill at 75mph.

I don't come close to 210 driving everyday in town. Stays right around 180 where the thermostat opens. Still averaging 17 mpg.

Today I gave my leather a good wash, and moved my spare up onto my roof rack.

Do your self a favor and return that failsafe and buy a 195° Mopar t-stat I had 3 failsafes fail on me in a 2 month period
