What did you do to your Cherokee today?
passed safety and emissions and picked up my plates afterwards. Ok now i know something is loose on it. When i steer all the way to the left and go about 15mph it starts bouncing like crazy... any ideas on what it could be?
Replaced turn signal switch b/c my hazards flashed when I used my left turn signal.
Replaced driver's door lock/power window switch. old one was fubar.
Replaced rear window wiper arm bezel b/c the washer hose nipple broke off.
Installed my new Delta Xenons.

Drove it and wondered if the D30 U-joints were gonna finally let loose....That and eyeballed a red wire hanging under my dash that is pulled out of something, don't know what exactly, but something...

I played with the new power steering pulley. I need to get it adjusted.
Wasn't too bad. One nut holds the arm on the shaft. The bottom of the arm has a cover that flips up to give you access to the nut. After removing the arm, a larger diameter jamb nut holds the bezel tight agains the body. The bezel has two nipples made onto it. One nipple is on the outside of the body for the hose going to the nozzle and the other nipple is on the inside and hooks to the supply hose. I couldn't get the inside hose loose by pulling from outside the Jeep, so I has to remove the interior panel to get access to the hose and nipple. After that, it was easy. It took an hour or so and the part was about $5 from Jeepsareus. The bezel comes with a new rubber gasket.

I'm getting ready to go out to the garage to finish replacing o-rings on my oil filter adapter as well as the distributor.
While removing the adapter I spotted something scary disturbing. My pos. battery cable had been rubbing against the adapter to the point a 3" section had worn completely through the casing. The exposed wire is a combined mess of oxidized copper fragments, and oil. I'll be replacing the cable as well..obviously.

I installed the Aussie Locker in the front D30 of my XJ last night. There are a bazillion write-ups about this installation so I didn't take any pics. It was an easy install. It took me a little longer than I expected because I had to do some adjusting on my homebrew posi lock to make it lock and unlock like it's supposed to. Once I got the front axle to unlock and I did the test drive, I had a rather disappointing realization. The drivers side front wheel, front gears and front driveshaft all spin all the time, now. It's not noisey nor does it vibrate but, I know my fuel mileage will suffer. Once I took it off road to test out the new traction, I got a huge grin
and I realized I can live with the new front pieces spinning. I just need to lube and grease everything more often. When all 4 wheels are locked in 4HI or 4LO the frnt and rear lockers unlock just as advertised. They both smooth and quiet. Still very glad I decided to go with Aussie Lockers.

This was on Sunday, but I cleaned up my recent JY treasures as they were nastydirtygreasy (front skid, front tow hook brackets, shifter bezel) and installed the "new" shifter bezel that only cost $1
