What is the "Correct" Way to Drive an Automatic Transmission
If there even is one. May be a stupid question but I am curious.
I have always wondered this, what is the correct way to drive with an automatic. What style of driving puts the least strain on it?
I have always been told to get into OD as quick as possible without flooring it and to never tow in OD unless your on a flat highway.
Should the throttle be feathered whiled getting up to speed while letting off the accelerator at the shift points and then gradually increase throttle to get to the next?
What are everyones thoughts on this?

I wish I would have got to do a neutral slam or something fun (that I would never normally do, like a burnout) before my Cherokee died.... Just cared about her way too much to do that haha

1) put key in ignition and foot on the brake
2) turn key forward
3) press the button on your shift selector and pull the selector down to where it says "D"
4) move your foot from the brake to the pedal on the right side of it
5) step on this pedal gradually unless you are in a hurry and then step on it like you are stepping on a cockroach
6) drive until you need to move your foot to the brake pedal and repeat process starting from step #4
Hope this helps.
