Did they ever produce limited's in 97-01 with 8.25 rears? or 87-90 with D44 rears? i know the D44 only showed up in towpkg XJs in the years 87-90. So if it was and 89' LIMITED with a towpkg would it have an D44 or D35? And the 97-01 limited's have ABS, and ABS only came on the D35 out of the factory. so could you get a limited with a C8.25 rear axle if you opted out of the ABS? Also did they ever make XJ's with sun/moon roofs? if so, what years? thanks!

I'm pretty sure they made XJs with sun roofs. Look at the front of your roof and notice how it doesn't have the ridges to reinforce the roof. Looks like a good spot for a sun roof to me. On 2 side notes, my 88 MJ has a sun roof and I saw a SJ with dual sun roofs.

Yes you could get a sunroof option on an XJ, but I've read they're prone to leaking (due to the ridges on the XJ roofs).
I bought a complete stock 99 Limited, and it a had an 8.25 rear and no abs. Had the spoked (kinda honey comb like) alloy wheels, fog lights, tow hooks, skid plates, overhead console, power/heated leather interior, keyless, cruise, Infinity sound system (with amp), body painted bumpers/trim, and a 242 t-case..

Yes, I have one.
Think tow package, it's going to have the stronger axle.
Right. Chrysler 8.25 Jeeps don't have ABS.
Yes. That's the only way you can get a Chrysler 8.25 from the factory.
Yes. Not sure on the years, but I've seen later model Cherokees with them, so probably 97-01.

Mine is a 99 Limited with the overhead computer, 8.25 rear, leather, but no towing package. Lacking the towing package is easily made up for with an axle upgrade.

Haha mine was wrecker bound when I got it in November. Apparently people around here don't want a Jeep that doesn't run and needs some work.. So for $450 it was mine (took a fuel pump and ignition coil, which I had both already). She's white with tan interior, and 152,000km (95,000mi) and one of the cleanest XJ's I've seen in Ontario lol. It's not stock anymore though..
