Default What to buy next

After months of begging the wife she finally gave in. Or got tired of hearing about it.. . She has given me the funds to buy stuff for my build. Within minutes I had racked up a good size order. That's when she stopped me and said one thing at a time. So I started with my lightbars. I got myself a 31" bar and four 4" bars. And started building the roof rack lastnight. It's going to be 4'x6' with the 31" mounted to the front (of course). And the 4's mounted to the corners of the rack angled out. Once I have the lights paid down I'm going to get the next order. But what to get next is the question. On my list is a 4.5" lift, a tube winch bumper and a rear tube bumper, and a winch. I already have a 3" lift on the xj but its a poor mans lift and desperately needs replaced. Besides I want a 4.5". I can only do one thing at a time. So what should I do. Lift first then the winch and front bumper.. Or winch and bumper then the lift.

Armor is all going to be hand built by me. I was going to build the bumpers also but I found some tube bumpers I really like.

"One thing at a time"?

4.5" lift gets into expensive territory. Tell us your plans. There's a lot to do lol

Yeah.. First child is on the way..

We first bought the xj to just mud with it.. But with me switching jobs it became my DD. So I don't try and swamp it now when we go out. I've notice that when we go out everyone just hits the mud holes but I like to ride around looking for obstacles. I'm just not into trying to make it a submarine anymore.

Basically I want a good all round trail rig. Everyone we go with runs a 6+ lift. Right now I have a 3" and having 33's and fenders cut, I find myself rubbing the tires pretty good. Figured a 4.5 would be a good height.

Off road lighting is taken care of.. Lights should be here Monday. And I'll have the rack finished tonight.

Self recovery is a must! I usually hit the trails on my way home from work to blow off steam. I was going to build a bumper but found a safari tube bumper I really like. So going with it..

Sliders I have started building but ran into a design block with them. And skid plates are going to be next once I get some steel.

When my rear end went out the other month I took out the welded carrier and installed an Aussie locker. The same will be for the front.

That's about it as far as I want to do to it.

if you're on the trail and a rock even looks at you funny, it might dent your rockers.

rock sliders are key
