Is this a Dana 44? I tried to compare it with the online chart y'all have on the forum. It's hard to tell

So far I know it got a locker and 4.10's in it.

I just want to make sure it's a 44

Here is a better chart that shows the overall shape of the axle housing.

I wonder if he bought it as is and doesn't know what he has? a LOT and I mean a LOT of people think that the Rusty's 4x4 posi-lok is a locking differential.

Rusty's does sell a lot of different lockers though. None of them are Rusty's brand though.

If it's a matched set with 4.10s and the front axle is a non-cad and you never plan to go to bigger axles, I would say it's worth the $500 asking price, especially if there is a locker in the rearend

I really don't want to buy a both set lol

He said he's willing to sell just a rear for 250. I think I might try to talk him down to 200.

He said he didn't know what kind of locker cause he bought the jeep from some one else who did all the work. He called that guy and he told him it was a rusty locker.

He insist it is not a posi. It's a locker, he's asking how to identify the brand of it? Would there be a brand name on it if he removed the cover?

very doubtful. almost all lunchbox lockers look and perform exactly the same. tell him to jack it up and spin the tires, if both go the same direction, it has a locker. if not, it doesn't.

Either way, if it has 4.10s, it's worth $250 IMO. You would spend that much just on regearing when you want 4.10s. Do you have 4.10's in the front? If not, you might want to consider buying the set because again, you would spend more than $250 regearing your front
