Anyone know of a really well made hand pump that can handle gear oil (gallon). I got the ones from Advance and Autozone, they either broke halfway or leaked out the top where the handle is and got everywhere.
Was looking at this Penzoil, if anyone knows of a really nice one thanks.

The amazon one is amazing it pumped 85w-140 gear oil no problem or leaks. (Bonus it fits supertec bottles). It has a gasket in the top it's such a smart design, I will order another one just to have around.

I've got one of the 5 gal ones from Tractor Supply and have been using it with 80w90 for going on 9 years now, plus a bunch of thinner stuff for the tractor.

Could you be a bit more specific? I just looked on Amazon and there's over a dozen different ones.Originally Posted by XJJeff

Been fifteen years, hasn't failed me yet. It only moves a pint at a time, but it will move it, and it keeps doing it. Over and over again.
It will cost more than a plastic pump, but it will last longer - and that saves you money in the long run (cheaper to buy it once than buy it over and over again.)

This is the one I mentioned earlier:

It's been going for now on 9 years.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago from Wal-Mart for $9.99 and have used it with fuel, motor oil and gear oil. It works great and has never leaked. It was an older model though and only came with the 2 red hoses.
The only real downside is that it only pumps from bottom to top which means you have to PULL to move the fluid, rather than push. Pumping gear oil with it will wear you out pretty quick.
