Default Well I'll Be !

Found this in a 96XJ that I've been parting out in my backyard. This XJ was a state park police vehicle that spent most that time on the beach and as such has end stage cancer. Can't believe I didn't notice this before but was always covered with papers. I have to pull the cover to see what type locker this might be and I'm guessing was factory installed.

If it looks like a factory sticker from Jeep my guess is it would be LSD and not a true locker, what rear differential does it have in it being a 96?

My last XJ had the same thing. Not a locker for sure. It was a LSD and did not work very well. Felt more like an open diff with really thick fluid in it.

It's a D35.

Seems weird to me they would refer to an LSD as a locker and not just state it for what it is with the same warning.

Hi, Oldguy52, where in the Jeep did you find the sticker? I ask because I am trying to find a Chrysler 8.25 with LSD at the JY and knowing where to look for the sticker would be a big help.

Thanks.

My friend you may have a hard time finding one and if you did I quite sure that it would need to be rebuilt and most likely a 3.73 gear.

As for stickers usually they are located on the sun visor in most 4x4's not sure on his. My 04 WJ has lsd's with 3.73's front D30 and rear D44a and no where on it does it show those facts like stickers only on the build sheets, but it is full time 4wd.
