So i went and bought the 88 renix i was asking about today. Interior is pretty rough, idles high, brakes are super weak, leaks power steering fluid, rear passenger doors dont open from inside or out unless i hold the unlock button and gotta wiggle the shifter when trying to start it.

Here are a couple quick pics. Anything look out of place under the hood? Im not familiar with renix xjs, yet.

First things i need to do is get the brakes working better and be able to open to passenger doors. Any ideas on what to check or do for these problems (or the other ones i mentioned) .

All I can see under the good is that the coolant reservoir or bottle is ballooned up, typical for the closed cooling system. I would get a new one. Also the front valve cover breather tube has been replace with a different hose, looks like it's kinked, make sure it's not kinked. High idle could be a dirty idle air control motor. I'd start by cleaning that and the throttle body and go from there. I like the renix Cherokees! Although that's all I have had
