Default welded lower c/a's??

this is prolly a dumb ?... but i might have a chance to get a set of rusty's lowrs that were cut in half by their current owner. he is willing to give them me. i just have to pay the shipping.

so obviously i am goin to weld them back together. my ? is... will they be safe for dd use. money is tight and i've had my lift waiting to go on for almost a year now. im starting to get ansy. my stock lwrs are in need of bushings, badley. and i want to install my full lift not just the 3" version of it. so lwrs c/a's are a must for me.

so what should i do gents?

ok. so the sleeve should be slightly smaller in the outside diameter so it fits inside very snug. then weld them up?

I would say go for it. Although its not going to be 100% when you weld them back together, but... Just make sure you put a long enough piece of tube (as thick or thicker and the same I.D.) on the inside at least 2-3" on either side of the cut (if possible). Then maybe plug weld the insert in and then fully weld the two halves together...???

this sounds like a plan. i will get a sleave that has a thicker wall than that of the c/a. and the length that you spoke of and do it up.

sweet. thanks guys.

You don't sound very sure about that...
