Ya I have an S-10 with a SBC the previous owner welded the spiders and when the welds went it destroyed everything and took chunks out of the ring and pinion. Once that broke I destroyed the front IFS trying to drive it onto a trailer and broke it so I swapped in a Dana 30. No more IFS

I would def. go with the locker, I've been stranded with broken spiders. They dont hold up

i dont have a d30 but i romp on my cherokee with welded front spiders!! never broke a thing.

weld the spiders together and then weld the spiders to the carrier. works much like a spool with the cost being free. show me a cheaper locker and i will swap it in!!

just bustin some *****...dd, i wouldnt do it unless you have selectable hubs (if you have selectable hubs on a d30, the price of a locker shoulnt be a concern!) front locker can get scarry on the road!!
