assuming you have the dana 35 id swap in an 8.25 and weld it up it will chirp around turns and you will rotate your tires more often. i have few buddies that run around with welded spidies

Simple for me, I would buy a locker, and if you weld it and drive it on the street all the time it will break. Not an if but a when. Unless its strictly an off road rig I would avoid welding like the plague. I am saving for my locker but I plan on air or electric so I can run open on the road.

go ahead and buy the locker, what if you weld and dont like it what are you gonna do then??? its too late you already welded it......so buy the locker it will be much better driving and on your tires, they wont wear out as fast

Do you hear banjos?
Locker, spiders are not designed to be welded, therefore, I don't trust that approach. What if you got in a tight spot out in the middle of nowhere, and the carrier broke due to the welded spiders....not good. Lockers are designed with that extra force in mind, so it is an easy choice in my book. Good luck!!
