I'm learning to ignore all the weird noises in my 1998 XJ.

Mostly I think it's the rear leaf springs.

I've been ignoring the noises my YJ makes for years, with no ill effect.

I used to be the guy who spared no expense tracking down such things, but now I'm just too tired & wait for something to actually break before going after it.

 

And your question is?...... Noises in the rear end is somewhat vague considering 1,000's of possibilities so help with the info you provided ins't going to be helpful.
