Your thinking so what right?

If your an owner of these new Jeeps like i am (trailhawk 2013 grand cherokee) and you dont like to carry your expensive and non weather
proof key fob, you would be looking for a better way.
Ive also looked into the HITCH SAFE but hear too many bad stories with this.

NOW why didnt Jeep think of this, I mean Jeep is all about the outdoors
and adventure and taking you beyond the paved world. I live in Northern California and I seek out beaches to surf and mountains to explore. One big problem I have is I dont want to take my key fob with me or separate
the key from the fob. This causes the vehicle to sound an alarm when i return. I dont want honking and attention drawing to where I am .

I believe if you are a real adventure seeker you would understand and help me contact Jeep on this new Idea. Id be the first in line to buy one!

Besides not loosing your key (since it would be on your wrist like a slick slim band) this would also be a really cool way to advertise JEEP!
COME ON JEEP PEOPLE MAKE THIS FOR US!

Just get a vehicle with the keypad keyless entry. Does jeep not offer this? We have this on my wifes ford fusion. When we go walking we just toss the key in the console, shut the door, hit a few keys to lock it and walk away. When we come back we just hit the combination and we're in. It comes in handy a lot.

The key pad on the door is a ford thing and a old thing now.The easy fix is a water proof cell phone bag they are cheap and work.As far as jeep caring i doubt it,Its not even jeep anymore fiat owns chrysler now and probably the reason for all the recalls lately.

Andrew is right Fiat could care less about their 500's or Cherokee models about the same.


But I think I could come up with a few options myself to use if needed. Most of the time I hide mine in almost plain sight if I need to leave a key with the car.

Its not about getting something / I have a Jeep - yea key pads on cars have been around since the 80's One of the first introductions was in 1980 on the Ford Thunderbird, Mercury Cougar, Lincoln Continental Mark VI, and Lincoln Town Car,

im talking about using technology and moving it forward - I was hoping people here can see this and help .

Use a hide-a-key. The previous previous owner of my 90 XJ hid it so well the previous owner couldn't find it. I bought the Jeep with no door key. Found the hide a key when I cut the front fenders, it was behind the wheel well liner. So many spots to stash a key.

Just great!
Now the shark is beating me to death with my severed arm then uses the arm with the wristband still attached and proceeds to steal the freakin' Jeep. I knew this was a bad idea from the start. Let's just see the freakin' shark try to start the Jeep with a key.....

The key is a Fob (those remote keys) its very expensive and wont do well in wet weather. I thought of that. thanks for reading though

I work in the ship yard. I once had my truck broken into for the inspection sticker. Someone broke the window for a sticker. Long story short, cars are targets in the parking lot of ship yards. A co worker of mine leaves the keys to his truck in the gas door. Everyday. He's never had a problem. Guess no one is looking in the fuel door for the vehicle keys. Might be an easy solution for you.
