Warn Winch
I have a Warn HS9500i that I was going to put on my XJ, but life is taking me on a roller coaster the last couple of months so I had to sell the Jeeper. I've listed it on Craigslist for $650 but have only had one offer for $400 which I think is pretty low for what you're getting.
I'm not trying to hawk my crap on the general chat forum, I have a FS ad on here too... but am I asking way too much for the winch? It's in good condition but could use some quick cleanup and a rattle canning... Comes with a wireless remote and a TJ mouning plate.
Am I crazy for asking $650??

plus you can get a good quality winch thatll do the same thing brand new for that price... for a good reliable winch like that your best bet would be go to a towing company/mechanic and see how much they'll give you for it

Yes, a used HS9500i in good condition is worth 500-700 dollars, that said, if it needs anything that price goes down. You stated that it could use some cleaning and rattle canning, well, clean it and rattle can it, so it looks like something besides a POS.
The person that is looking to buy a used winch isn't looking to spend money on something he is going to need to clean and fix to get looking and working the way he wants. Just my $.02

I really wanted a WARN winch, but the price of them (new & used) is just out of my & all my buddies price range. I picked up a smittybuilt for 299 or something. I'd buy a used WARN, but honestly it'd have to be $250 to $350 for me to even consider it. Just my broke *** $.02

Thanks all for the input, good to get a few different opinions. Looks like I may have to hit up the people that use winches commercially rather than recreationally to get the $$ I'm looking for.

Took everyone's advice and cleaned it up, painted the winch and mounting plate, greased the rollers, checked electronics, etc...
Looks a lot better now and wish I would have done it a lot earlier. I think it looks damn good now.

I also replaced 6 solenoids in 2 years on it.
Now my xrc8 comp has been flawless and worked every time I've used it in the past 2 years

for the guys that only want a warn, they will buy it.
for the other cheap sombiches, let them buy the cheaper crap.
stick to your guns.
