Well, winter is almost here (or already here for some). How long do you usually let your jeep warm up for? I run outside and start mine, and let it run for 2-5 mins, then I drive it really easy, staying around 2000 rpms or less until my temp gauge is past the 2nd line.

My warm up time works on a scale-
Warm weather- little to none
Cool weather- enough to get oil gauge to move then gentle driving.
Cold weather- ~10min

I just get in and go unless I have to wait for the windshield to defrost. Of course I go easy on it until it gets up to temp. Then again I always take it easy lol except off road!

Jeep with an auto tranny and auto start..if it is cold out: 5 minutes on auto start while I am getting dressed.
I also have a 2002 VW passat 5 speed, 5 seconds and gone lol
On fuel injected cars warm up is more for the driver than the car itself. They are pretty much start and go, but go easy until operating temp.
Keep the azz cheeks warm out there!

I can warm up the Jeep for half an hour with defrost on full blast, yet it still is blowing cold air.... But warms right up about 2 minutes into my drive. Any ideas ?

Where is the option for "I just get in and drive it." ? Yeah, yeah I know its hard on them, but Im usually running late for work in the morning, or have just enough gas to get to the station.

I'm very similar. Originally Posted by Dan91

If its really cold out and the windows frosted over sometimes I'll start it 20 minutes early just cause mime is a little slow to warm up anyway and its only 7 miles to work and it takes a bit to get any heat from the old girl.

Its usually 8-12(remote start shuts off after 12 mins) for me. I leave the fan on speed 1 and on 3/4 heat in the winter and fan 1 all the way cold in hot months.

Well for my own sake I let mine warm up anywhere from 2-5 minutes depending on the temp outside, which at 8:00 am has been around 10 degrees (although mine is parked in a garage and then I pull it out to warm it up). But I guess as long as the oil has made it to the upper section of the engine (10-20 seconds...???) go ahead and drive it! :-)

Usually no more than 30 seconds. If it takes a vehicle several minutes to get to operating temperature I'd say there's something wrong with it.
