Like it or not it's still a Cherokee. And it's a very well built one at that. Not every Jeep is used for off-road driving, mine included.
I wonder if the fastest mud racing Cherokee is still "Street legal"? Or a successful Pro rock crawler Cherokee that can make that claim?
I'm sure there's more productive things to do than to bash a nicely built Jeep because we don't like to see a Jeep built for drag racing.

Is a cherokee light enough to make sense to tub out ? cherokees must have a capable drive line otherwise to me it just would'nt be advantageous to spend so much money on a rod you'll never get your money outta of.. an old '62 nova rusted out, build it up.. that makes sense .. you can get your money back.... but a cherokee??? I'm sorry this person must have a love for jeeps or to much money, to me this is like good money after bad... He'll never sell that thing.......... Now if it was a monster rig.. that maybe different as some of these tricked class 5 baja's/rails sell for close to 100K or more..

*Which has been changed to 1,000 feet since this XJ was built and timed, so it is probably in the eights now.

Heck... He might have $30k into the motor and drivetrain alone...
Guys around here are spending $50 to over $100k on their offshore boat engines. I saw a guy at the marina the other day with a 50' or 51' Outer Limits that my Son told me has $130k in each Supercharged engine. The guy buys parts off my Son...
