Default Vacuum reservoir on a 2001 Limited

I recently purchased a 2001 Limited Up Country and I'm attempting to repair things as I go along. My current issue is the cruise control. The cruise light comes on but it won't engage. My guess is that I have a leak at the vacuum reservoir. I have inspected the lines up to that point. How do I gain access to the reservoir? Do I need to remove the battery tray? Thanks in advance for any help.

The vacuum ball is inside your bumper. Take the end cap off and you'll see it.
