for a stroker I believe you have to rebuild the whole engine so it's like brand new otherwise stroking it will take years off it's life. it has to be professionally re-done
and theres no point to a V8 IMHO. especially for your applications, which I'm assuming is just driving around town. it's all about torque anyway right?
but if you want some good pros vs. cons vs. price you should watch this video when you have a minute.
it's from powerblock. I'm pretty sure it's the right vid.

well there's some site that sells bored TB's just curious if anyone's got a link to the guy who does those
Also, understand that in most cases a throttle body with a larger bore isn't a power adder in and of itself.
A bored throttle body will improve part-throttle response, but it doesn't "add" or "make" power.
If you're looking to improve airflow throughput, know that the biggest choke point is in the cylinder head proper. You'll want to improve port flow as much as possible, with a flow bias of ~70% favouring the intake (the exhaust flow should be 65-75% of the intake flow numbers.)
It's painfully easy to screw up a head trying to do port work without a flowbench! There's a fine balance of what you want to do, and going over the line will take you down much faster than you ever went up! Anything beyond a "cleanup polish" should only be done with unrestricted access to a flowbench. Else, it's going to get screwed up, about twelve times in ten.

yeah thanks for the lesson but I know what it does and that's all I need. I'm just looking for some throttle response upgrades.
who cares about adding power to a jeep anyway. I'll just go find it on google

I want to do it with a LS1. Will try to get the 4l60e and the engine, and wiring, and intake and everything out of a camaro or firebird or something. though i would settle for a 5.3 out of a truck. might be a better way to go. will probably upgrade to a ford 8.8, and keep the np231 but upgrade it. as for front axle, not sure yet.
might do it towards the end of this summer depending on how much money I can get.
