and I know some gears are rated for different noise levels too
Master install kits seem to be top notch compared to everything else. I'm not so worried about the R&P's themselves, I probably could go cheaper on them.

Another reason is where I'm getting everything from gets me a discount since he owns our club.

You get what you pay for, but that is a good price.

You do, and I payed for quality gears at a great price that have been holding up wonderfully. I have worked many Motive gear installs with out any issues.

Richmond Gear on the other hand... they can be so whiny bastards

Its has nothing to do with rusty's I don't like Rusty's myself but they are just a Distributor for these gear sets. The brand is Motive Gear and the install kit is all Timken

Boost, did you regear the 8.25? Did you make an adjuster tool?

It wont be hard at all to make. Just use some threaded rod and weld the nuts in place and bam, instant adjuster. I didn't bothered since I have one that easily accessible

Edit: Its also very nice if you have 2 adjusters to work with. Going side to side with the same adjuster can be a pain

Looks like it's a 7/8 nut, so I'm going to weld that to some sch 80 or 40 tubing and then weld in a bolt or socket extension for a breaker bar on the other end. Shouldn't be hard to make either way.

I'm currently in the same boat. 35's and stock gearing, I've been dying to drive the jeep again.

i have 33's with stock gears i run 85 90 mph xD steering does need upgrade even on 33's. imho but its all what the pocket will allow. over time get the things. gears are wonderful, but the stock gearing will pull them on the road. you may notice you need gas more often but as a general rule in my xj, it doesn move unless i put 20 bucks in it for gas a day lol
