Question Unable to decode a VIN

Hi all,

I used to own an XJ and I found a photo of its old registration document which includes a VIN.
Out of curiosity for my personal research I tried to look up that VIN however all the decoders I tried (including the FCA one) don't return any results.

This is the photo I have of the registration
This is the photo I have of the registration

From what I can read, it appears to be: 4J4FJN7PXPL569172

This doesn't make much sense to me as almost all Jeeps from that area should have a VIN starting with "1J4" but when I correct it, most decoders tell me the VIN is invalid/check digit didn't match.

From what I remember, my Jeep was a 1993 2-door with a 2.5 gasoline 4-cylinder with a manual. Can any of the experts on this forum manage to adjust this VIN to what it should be so that it can get correctly read by the various sites, ideally to get the FCA provided Build Sheet!

Many thanks in advance for all your help!

Thumbs up

I asked ChatGPT and he determined the correct VIN.

It's supposed to be 1J4FJN7P8PL569172

Thanks for reading and have a good day.
