I hate to tell you, but there are no new XJs anymore. Production ended in 2001.

If you jump to 0:48 in this vid you can see a Cherokee ripping around in the desert with a V8 LS1

Then, there would have to be an LS section in the modified XJ section, so those folks could keep those engines running. I don't want an engine with that much "stuff" on it when it needs repairs.

The longest engine block I have seen in an XJ was a first gen Viper 8.0L V10.

The LS engine is pretty bullet proof, even with all that stuff on it. Got a fleet of Chevy trucks with the LS 5.3, hardly any problems at all. That can't be said for the Ford 5.4, or the Dodge 4.7.
