Nevermind...
For all the 97+ models, the relay for this is under the steering column. You have to remove the panel under the column, and remove the metal plate behind that. To the left you will see a gray box that has a wire plug going into it. Directly above that is a small plug with wires, if you swivel that around, you'll notice that it's a relay on the other side of the plug. This is the relay that needs to be replace.
It's alot easier once you find it.

hi I'm new to the forum i just got a "new to me" 96 Cherokee and I'm also having turn signal issues. when i hit the flashers all of them flash except the front left. all the bulbs are good. but when i try the signal switch nothing works.
At first i thought it was the switch. but the wipers and sprayer work. just no flashers.
I've looked for the 5 prong switch you guys are talking about but all i find is two silver relay type fuses. and a spot to the left for a 6 prong "something". could that be it?

Just to touch base on this problem. Didn't go give mopar a bunch of money for a signal relay in red plastic. I just wired the turn signals to use the flasher relay. Its been fine ever since. Thanks for all the input

Thanks guys just called crapy tire and they have the flasher for $22 just a bit more expensive up here in Canada even though our dollar is worth more.
^ yeah yours is the old model.
The pic that shows the front of the relay center is color coordinated. The red one is for your turn signals. This is supposed to be 97+ models but some 96 sports were issued this as a trial. The other pic is the same thing just flipped 180°. If you look closely at the wiring you can see my little jumper I put in there its the red 16° piece. All you need is about an inch and a half jump the two slots and presto you have turn signals... Only downfall to this method is your signal lamps will now work with the key off

I bought a replacement after work changed it in the parking lot and still did not fix my problem. When i put my hazards on everything is fine, when I put my left signal on everything is fine, but when I put my right signal on the right front comes on but both the right and left come on in the back. Any help would be appreciated.

its a 12 Volt 5 Terminal Electronic Flasher #EP27
