New to the cherokee forum!!! so excited!!!
anyway... i found this dual tube bumper on craigslist near my house. it was on a toyota but it is a good deal and i want a dual tube bumper cuz i think they look nice. i know it probably doesnt have the same mount setup as my 96 xj but if it is a good price would it be worth it/difficult to make it fit?
thanks in advance!

Thinking you want the front bumper........find out the ID of the bumper, it may be narrow, and understand you'll ruin what ever finish it has welding new connections on. On a side note, it dosent offer recovery points.
Stay away from the rear. (my 2 cents)

thanks for the reply!
1. yea i wasnt gonna go for the rear. i dont really like the look of it at all
2. even if i didnt have to change anything, i still would repaint the bumper probably with some spray on bedliner. my dad knows some friends that have some basic welding stuff, how involved do you thing itll be to change the mounting setup on it so that it fits the setup on my xj?

UPDATE:
i found this one too that was off a dodge dakota
http://baltimore.craigslist.org/pts/2355673990.html
it is only 50 dollars, if it could be modded to fit it would be a steal

ive actually looked at the same thing for my gfs jeep. a 2 tube bumper off a toyota, i dont think the mount conversion would be to hard if you have done welding before. but like Detour said, you dont have any recovery points.

The pointed front might not look too swift........there's 'getting by' and then there's.....'what was he thinking'.....
Changing mounting points will involve cutting & removing old, the ability to fabricate new ones from say 1/4" steel, drilling, welding.....etc.

Thanks for all the replies guys I'm glad I joined the forum!
So if I were to be able to get it to work, what would you suggest to paint it with? Spray on bedliner? My jeeps white and the trims black so I think black bedliner would look pretty sharp and be durable. Input?

Prep prep prep! Pre prep, a good thick primer, then a lot of bed liner, cause the spray can stuff isn't all that thick... say 2 full cans on it should hold up to the rocks!

I have about the same front bumper from the toyota on my 89 yota and where the tube starts to curve towards the back of the truck is a little too narrow. If it's the same as what mine is, I don't believe it will fit unless you push it out from your grill and that wouldn't look very good.

So if it is too narrow, what about the one from the dodge ram that i also posted the link for? The edges don't seem like they curve as steeply as the Toyota one, maybe that wouldn't look as bad if it had to stick out a little?
