hey guys... i just bought duplicolor trim paint... by the looks of the cap it will make my trim look like it did in 1999... has anyone ever used this/like this ?

i have but i used krylon fusion paint and put a clear over it make sure you put enough tape to prevent overspray ill post pics in a min

lightly scuff with a scotch pad and wipe with wax and grease remover were your gonna paint. reason for scotch pad is so the paint has some bite and won't peel. 2nd is to remove any armorall or whatever maybe on the trim. if theres some on there it will fish eye and look like crap.

What kind of Clear coat did you use? I'm using krylon fusion satin black and wherever I put my clearcoat, it just winds up looking like white fog.

Just regular clear paint ...... Can't tell the name off the top of my head but they sell it at home depot. I got the gloss clear

I used Duplicolor bumper coating and although it looked great at first it only lasted about a year before it looked like crap again.

Had to, some of it was peeling off. I have double sided tape for it

tahnks guys.. mine looked like crap 3 diff shades of grey.... they look good now... well at least they are factory gray lol

IMHO the XJ's look better without the side moldings, I took mine off after the tape started failing. I still have all but the left front molding if anyones looking for replacements, PM me.
