Default Traveling to the Rubicon

I'm going to be driving cross country in my xj to wheel The Rubicon with a group of friends. If anyone see's this xj sitting along the interstate somewhere, stop and give a guy a hand....

Be safe. I can say I am truly jealous. If I see a jeep broke down, I always stop to lend a hand. Which way are you taking to get there?

Out of curiosity, I checked google maps. It's about 2,700 miles for me to get there if I wanted to drive there.

It's a long ride for sure, I was going to fly and ride on this one but lost my seat when a guy had to cancel. I moped around awhile then decided to just drive the xj out, I might leave the xj out there and fly back. It's only a 5hr flight so I'd like to fly back out next summer and spend 2 weeks just wheeling/sight seeing on the west coast...

5100 miles and the Rubicon Trail, the little xj did everything I ask of it. I was invited out to run the Crawl Magazine "Crawl the Con" ride and it was a bucket list trip for sure.....Nothing broke but I did have to change out a wheelbearing and trackbar before I headed back..

Good stuff, trip of a lifetime I bet. The wife and I were talking about renting an RV and heading out west with a kid(s). Would love to tow the Jeep out with me. That's many years off though. Have to save up some dough.
